Haji A. Rahman Safar
Haji A. Rahman is a Chartered Accountant by profession with vast experience and knowledge in Accounting and Finance. He is presently a Vice President (Corporate Services) of KLIA Holdings Group of Companies, Board Member of a number of its subsidiary companies and Chairman of the Board of KLIA Properties Sdn. Bhd, a company specializing in property development. He also sits on the board of Mercury Securities Sdn Bhd, a stock broking company which is a Participating Organisation of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
He started his career as a tutor in accounting at the National University of Malaysia before taking up the post of Treasury Accountant with the Accountant’s General Department, Malaysia. In the following 27 years of his career both in public sector and private sector, he has served various Departments and Ministries holding financial related posts such as State and Chief Accountant. With such varied accounting and finance background he is well respected among his peers and competitors.
Apart from his Accounting skills Haji A Rahman is also knowledgeable in the field of Project Finance, Project Financial Risk Evaluation, Project Management especially in ICT Project, Project Privatization, Securities Industry and Asset Management, to name a few.
Some reputable projects handled and managed by him includes KL International Airport, Putrajaya ICT Master Plan, Implementation of Putrajaya ICT projects, Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia Traffic Management Centre Project, Low Cost Carrier Terminal Project and Kuching International Airport ICT Project.
His special interest in landed property hhas further made him a man to be reckoned with. Through KLIA Land, KLIA Properties and KLIA Engineers, he has established himself as the architect in the success of these subsidiary companies. The development of KLIA Engineers’ land in Bandar Baru Bangi, including the construction of KLIA Holdings Headquarters, the proposed 3B Curve Shopping mall, the mixed development project in Kuala Langat including the construction of KLIA Training Centre and others are products of his successful works. His tireless, persistence and farsightedness promise a bright future to the subsidiaries he leads.
